Ivory Coast fails to meet 30% women quota ahead of legislative elections

In Ivory Coast, the law has mandated a 30% quota for women in legislative elections in major constituencies since 2019. Just over a month before the vote, and with the electoral commission having just validated the candidacies, the quota has not been met.
