Massive landslide in eastern DR Congo coltan mine kills at least 200

A massive landslide this week killed at least 200 people in the Rubaya mine in the eastern DR Congo province of North Kivu, the local governor said on Sunday. The Rubaya mine produces 15 to 30 percent of the world's supply of coltan and was seized by the M23 rebel group in May 2024.
